Blogging daily is hard. Like Tara said on Twitter yesterday, I have no idea how I used to blog every day for long stints of time. I know I had more free time back in the day than I do now, but it’s a challenge to come up with things to blog about daily that are at least semi-interesting. And that doesn’t even cover reading other blogs, commenting, etc. God knows I haven’t been good at that recently (especially commenting) but with Septemblog going on, I didn’t even have the time to try.
I’m glad I did blog daily in September, though, because it helped remind me that sometimes, the smallest little nuggets can be spun into an interesting blog post. I have a hard time remembering that these days. It also showed me that yes, I do have time to blog, I just need to make the time. I’m not very good at that these days either…
It also showed me that some of my best blog posts (or rather, my favorites to write) are more thought out pieces rather than something scribbled on the fly. See Big Goals Don’t Get Accomplished Overnight, What My Shopping Ban Taught Me, A Neat and Tidy Home. It was also fun to write about stuff that, in a few years time, will be an interesting glimpse into the woman I am today. See Defining My Personal Style, Early Mornings.
I plan on going back to my Monday/Thursday blogging schedule in October, as I don’t have it in me to blog daily anymore! I’m also hopeful I’ll be better at doing some blogging outreach, but I’m terrible at scheduling social media and always forget about Twitter chats so who knows how that’ll go. I also need to get back on my YouTube channel, as Septemblog ate into my filming and editing time. I’ve got some big ideas, both for my online space and my life off the Internet, and I’m excited to see what happens October and onwards.
