March has never been one of my favorite months. Unfortunately, this year was no exception. But there were a few things that I loved anyway, so let’s talk about them, shall we?
I already did a whole blog post on my newfound love for spin class, but it’s worth mentioning again. It’s amazing how much stronger my legs feel after going to spin class regularly for a month, and I love the feeling of being able to do sprints for longer, harder, and faster with each class.
Alba Botanicals Very Emollient Body Lotion
Can I say my new favorite body lotion? Yes, even more so than my beloved The Body Shop body butters! This stuff is AWESOME. It sinks in quickly, moisturizes deeply, and leaves no residue. It’s certified organic and has aloe vera, green tea, and chamomile extracts, plus it also has alpha hydroxy acids to assist with exfoliation. The bottle is jumbo sized with a pump, which makes applying it a breeze. Love!!
I’ve heard about this cat app for months now, but when I went away for a weekend with my two best friends last week they insisted that I download it. I was skeptical, but caved into peer pressure and put it on my phone. Now? I’m obsessed. For a game that really doesn’t have much going on — the cats are just chilling in the background all day, eating cat food, and leaving behind fish or odd gifts — it’s very easy to get hooked! I’m thisclose to having enough gold fish to purchase my first yard expansion, woo!
I’ve had this fancy shmancy steamer for almost a year now, and I had yet to figure out how to use it. Well, I got a crash course in steamer usage the morning I realized my button down had wrinkles in it and I had no other shirts that paired well with the pencil skirt I was wearing that day. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to figure out how to use a steamer, and it got the wrinkles out of my shirt like a dream. Plus it was a really quick process! I’m kind of alarmed by how excited I am by finally wearing wrinkle-free clothes (I HATE ironing), but honestly, I’m convinced my steamer is pretty much magical.
La Roche Posay Effaclar K+ and Duo
I’m on my second tubes of La Roche Posay’s Effaclar K+ and Effaclar Duo. I went a few months before I repurchased these tubes of acne-fighting goodness, and there was a noticeable difference in my skin during that time period. I use a thin layer of Effaclar K+ in the morning and Effaclar Duo at night, after toning and before moisturizing. They really help keep my skin blemish free, which is no small feat since I’ve got huge pores that are prone to clogging.
Deer Park Tavern
The best restaurant I ate at all month was Deer Park Tavern in Newark, Delaware. Even though I used to live in Newark, I’d never been to Deer Park Tavern! My friends and I went when we were in town for the weekend, and I was absolutely blown away by the AMAZING food (get the jambalaya!!) and service (shoutout to Serina W!). I’m definitely going back for another meal the next time I’m in the area, because it was just phenomenal.
