I find myself spending less and less time on the internet lately. Which makes finding the time and inspiration to write for this blog harder and harder.
One of the things I’ve been doing instead of whiling away my hours on the internet is reading. I’ve read nearly 20 books in August alone. For reference, I read zero books in April. Needless to say, HIT ME UP WITH YOUR BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS. And expect the Around the World in 80 Books posts to start popping up.
There used to be a time where the majority of my paycheck would go to makeup and happy hour. Responsible, I know. Now, it goes to stuff like workout clothes and stuff for my apartment. Does this mean I’m growing up? I don’t know how I feel about it.
Eating out is expensive, and I’m trying to cut down on it (particularly lunches out at the office) because health and money and stuff. But there’s still something to be said for a decadent meal out. Like the wine and cheese dinner Katie and I had when I was in Philly and our waitress was impressed with how much we put away. Or that brunch at China Chilcano, where Patrick and I stuffed ourselves silly with delicious, delicious food.
I often carry a laptop to and from work, and I’ve been carting my stuff around in a shoulder bag. This is no bueno, obviously, because all that weight on one shoulder is bad. I recently snagged a canvas backpack on sale that’s cute and OH MY GOD, it’s totally changed my life. I still will use my cute shoulder bags for day to day stuff outside of work, but if a laptop is involved, I’m using backpacks from now on.
One of my best friends and I floated the idea of an Eastern European trip next year and guys, I’m really, really excited for even the possibility. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO EASTERN EUROPE.
Fresh flowers make a big difference in brightening one’s living space.
I’m excited for fall. Summer’s been fun, but largely uneventful, and I’m okay with putting it behind me. I adore fall, and honestly, it really can’t come soon enough. There’s a lot of cool stuff I have lined up in the fall, as well as some anticipated changes at work. Stoked to see what the cooler months will bring!
