Inspired by Kate’s post on the same subject and the realization that my birthday is in a month, here’s my birthday wishlist! I rarely ever do these types of posts, but I thought I’d write one in the name of good fun. Also, in the name of coveting pretty things.
This list maaaay or may not have been heavily influenced by various items that I’ve been tempted by during my shopping ban… I’ll let you be the judge. Also, I’d like to clarify that this list is strictly a list of wants. I don’t need any of it, but hey, isn’t it be nice to dream about things we want every now and then?
Makeup Geek Starter Kit and Z-Palette Bundle
I own NO Makeup Geek eyeshadows, which is shocking considering eye makeup is ~my thing~ when it comes to makeup. Marlena’s put together the perfect starter kit for any eyeshadow and/or Makeup Geek makeup newbie — complete with a Z-Palette! The mattes are a lot warmer than ones I already have, and I can already imagine the great looks I could use them in as transition shades. And since the nine eyeshadow pans come bundled with the Z-Palette, it’s great for travel! What could be more perfect?
Fujifilm Instax Camera
I feel like an Instax camera is a pretty common want for a blogger, but I’m happily jumping on the I-want-an-Instax-camera bandwagon. Think of all the fun that could be had with this Polaroid-like camera! I’m a big fan of candid shots in general, and I already have all sorts of ideas that involve fun Instax photo collages that I could hang on my walls. Plus, the camera itself is very cute.
Popsugar Must Have Subscription Box
Subscription boxes aren’t really my thing anymore (as seen by my decision to part ways with Birchbox and Ipsy) but Popsugar’s Must Have subscription box is one that I’ve aaaaalways wanted. It’s too pricey for me to justify getting at $40 a month, but the stuff in it is SO nice! Of all the subscription boxes I see floating around, this one definitely seems like the best bang for the buck AND I’d enjoy about 95 percent of the stuff they include (at least, based on looking at what’s been included in boxes in the past).
ModCloth “Wrapped Tour Heel in Pebble” Shoes
I won’t divulge how long I spent staring at these shoes on my computer screen one night and mentally calculating/justifying whether or not I could buy ModCloth’s “Wrapped Tour Heel in Pebble” shoes, shopping ban be damned. (Don’t worry, I didn’t cave.) These shoes are affordable and they’re also in a unique-to-me style. Yeah, yeah, I have a lot of shoes already… but none like these! Think of all the ways I could style them!
PF Candle Co. Candles
I spotted these PF Candle Co. candles while browsing anomie and man, they sound amazing. Soy candles are always a good way to go because they last longer, but the scent combinations PF Candle Co. offers sound wonderful. Fig & Jasmine is one I’m seriously eyeing, along with Vanilla Plum and Amber & Moss.
I do yoga and Pilates at home nowadays and so while I don’t feel compelled to get a new yoga mat to fit in with my fellow yogis, my mat isn’t in the greatest shape. It’s got some weird stains on it (how? I wipe it down after every use!) and doesn’t really have good grip. I’d love for an upgraded yoga mat, particularly one with good grip so I’m not sliding all over my mat during a particularly sweaty practice. A towel over a mat can only do so much!
Aveda Gift Card
Because I’m finally taking the plunge and investing in haircare that would make my mama proud! Aveda has been her go-to brand for pretty much as long as I can remember, and after several good experiences at Aveda salons, I’m finally starting to explore what the brand has to offer. Unfortunately, the brand is more expensive than what I’m used to for haircare stuff. I mean, I’m happy to pay it in the end as the brand has what I want, but a gift card would be awesome, too.
Colourpop “Where the Light Is” Eyeshadows
Two eyeshadow sets in this wishlist? Just be surprised there wasn’t more! I like the kathleenlights YouTube channel as much as the next person, but what really caught my eye is the colors in the “Where the Light Is” collection she collaborated with Colourpop on. It reminds me of Charlotte Tilbury’s Dolce Vita palette, but with a MUCH more affordable price point. It’s also better quality, judging by online reviews. And since I have no Colourpop shadows, what better way to add some to my collection than with this collection?
Brit Stitch Bag
Brit Stitch bags are new to me, but they look like the perfect every day bag. They come in different sizes, and even offer color customizations! How awesome is that? They seem like excellent quality bags, too, and we all know how I’m trying to go the quality > quantity route these days. They’re handmade and sold in the UK but ship internationally, and ModCloth is an official US seller.
A Weekend Getaway
Anywhere. Anytime. I just need to get out of DC, if only for a weekend. Preferably longer than a weekend, but beggars can’t be choosers.
(I’ll happily pay my share for one, too — any takers?)
